My fav:

With the same sword they knight you, they gon' good night you with
Shit, that's only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
See Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas
See Caesar, see Brutus, see success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
Media meddles, niggaz sue you, you settle
Every step you take, they remind you you're ghetto
So it's tough being Bobby Brown
To be Bobby then, you have to be Bobby now
And the question is, "Is to have had and lost
Better than not having at all?"
Because I'm...

Oh and I, just waiting til the shine wears off

Probably the cleanest and well put together verse I've heard in a long time. Yeah I know the song is old and what not, but I just think it's great. Anyone else have a better one? My favorite part is when he says So it's tough being Bobby brown to be bobby then, you have to be bobby now.

Oh I like this topic. I'll post some later.
Declan`
usually have verses that really stand out from albums in my sig, but heres one that iv had in my head for years:

From town to town and state to state
The same old song you love to hate
The same shit stacked upon your plate
rotate again and syndicate
We've been waiting far too long
too change the band, too change the song
through every day and dusk and dawn
We've been brain-washed to sing along
No difference between the hot new single
and the Pepsi ads commercial jingle
The beauty's withered faded crinkle
Just sip the coke and pop the pringle
The boardroom is the dragons lair
They play us shit 'cuz they don't care
The clearest channel plays unfair
and we all want you off the air
Overdose on shoddy culture; mediocre trends
Auto-Tune the bottom line as a mean to meet the ends
Merging corporate empires create the ill conglomerations
and buy up to reprogram major market radio stations

song:

ill update every once and awhile

Let's start over again
Why can't we start it over again?

Just let us start it over again

And we'll be good
This time we'll get it right

It's our last chance to forgive ourselves..

More of a whole song, but still.

Do we learn math to add the dead's sum?
Subtract the weak ones,
Count cash for great ones?
Shall we multiply or divide the nation?
Break down like fractions
Send our sons away to die?
Do we learn science in defiance of faith?
To make alliance with fakes for an appliance's sake
We ask for the real but make artificial intelligence
To make smarter kills of other's presidents
Why do we learn history to fix stories for the guilty?
The angels look filthy and the devils look milky
If the victor writes the books, then what have we won?
Are we battleships for authorship for rich man's guns?
Do we learn to read to receive the lies
To deceive the eyes from seeing between the lines?
Do we use words to bring forth sticks and stones?
To sing psalms of hate that fill the streets with bones

Is our day job more than self-slavery?
When we're locked watching the clock impatiently
We sweat for the dollar bills, the checks and the credit cards
But the dollar kills, breaks the necks of our inner hearts
If the police are role models for the righteous
Why does justice depend on guns and nightsticks ?
Mr. Officer don't punish me, with BRUTALITY !!
These streets got me singing Marvin Gaye off-key
Do we need church to get to Heaven's gates?
Can holy water quench the thirst of those whose fates
Started in the wrong place with the wrong face?
Can the poor and the hungry survive solely on grace?
Can this rap game ever bring changes?
When MC's would rather floss a cross than be saviors?

Will I last in this game
Be blasted with shame

Will I stand for my name and never blaspheme for fame?

Lesson One - Tablo of Epik High

It seems like everybody wanna play God
but they blame God, shame God, spit and lie to the same God
can't explain why people ask for rain,
then compain about plain skies and the pain that comes to aged guys
a sage dies speakin' last words of wisdom
but the masses say "please don't let them touch my eardrums"
just leave 'em, they be deaf till their death,
but if no one ever listens does it matter what I said?

For her fake Chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earth
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
To get rid of itself
It wears her out, it wears her out
It wears her out, it wears her out

She lives with a broken man
A cracked polystyrene man
Who just crumbles and burns
He used to do surgery
For girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins
And it wears him out, it wears him out
It wears him out, it wears...

She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic love
But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run
And it wears me out, it wears me out
It wears me out, it wears me out

If I could be who you wanted
If I could be who you wanted
All the time, all the time

QUOTE

And now we ride the circus wheel
With your dark brother wrapped in white
Says it was good to be alive
But now he rides a comet's flame
And won't be coming back again
The Earth looks better from a star
That's right above from where you are
He didn't mean to make you cry
With sparks that ring and bullets fly
On empty rings around your heart
The world just screams and falls apart

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

It's the caffeine, the nicotine, the miligrams of tar
It's my habitat, it needs to be cleaned, it's my car
It's the fast talk they use to abuse and feed my brain
It's the cat box it needs to be changed, it's the pain
It's women, it's the plight for power it's government
It's the way you're giving knowledge
slow with thought control and subtle hints
It's rubbing it, It's itching it, It's applying cream
It's the foreigners sight seeing with high beams, It's in my dreams
It's the monsters that I conjure, It's the marijuana
It's embarrassment, displacement, it's where I wander
It's my genre, It's Madonna's videos
It's game shows, cheap liquor, blunts,
and bumper stickers with rainbows
It's angels, demons, gods, it's the white devils
It's the monitors, the soundman, it's the fucking mic levels
It's gas fumes, fast food, Tommy Hil' and mommy's pill
Columbia House music club, designer drugs and rhyming thugs
It's bloods, crips, fives, six
It's stick up kids,

It's public schools, it's asbestos
It's mentholated, It's techno

It's the health care system, it's welfare victims
It's assault weapons, it's television religion, and it's false lessons
It's cops, police, pigs with badges guns and sticks
It's harassment and a complex you carry when you're running shit
It's wondering if you get to eat, it's the heat
It's the winter , the weather
It's herpes, and it's forever
It's the virus that takes the lives of the weak and the strong
It's the drama that keeps on between me and my seed's mom
It's that need to speak long, it's that hunger for attention
It's the wack , who attack songs of redemption
It's prevention, It's the first solution

It's been 22 long hard years and still strugglin
Survival got me buggin, but I'm alive on arrival
I peep at the shape of the streets
And stay awake to the ways of the world cause shit is deep
A man with a dream with plans to make C.R.E.A.M.
Which failed; I went to jail at the age of 15
A young buck sellin drugs and such who never had much
Trying to get a clutch at what I could not touch
The court played me short, now I face incarceration
Pacin', going up state's my destination
Handcuffed in back of a bus, 40 of us
Life as a shorty shouldn't be so rough
But as the world turns I learned life is Hell
Living in the world, no different from a cell
Everyday I escape from Jakes givin chase, sellin base
Smokin bones in the staircase
Though I don't know why I chose to smoke sess
I guess that's the time when I'm not depressed
But I'm still depressed, and I ask what's it worth?
Ready to give up so I seek the Old Earth
Who explained working hard may help you maintain
to learn to overcome the heartaches and pain
We got stickup kids, corrupt cops, and crack rocks
and stray shots, all on the block that stays hot
Leave it up to me while I be living proof
To kick the truth to the young black youth
But shorty's running wild, smokin sess, drinkin beer
And ain't trying to hear what I'm kickin in his ear
Neglected for now, but yo, it gots to be accepted
That what? That life is hectic

Switchfoot - Meant to live

We where meant to live for so much more, have we lost ourselves
Soewhere we live in inside, somewhere we live inside
We where meant to live for so much more, have we lost ourselves
Soewhere we live in inside, somewhere we live inside
Dreaming about providence and wondering weather nicer men have second tries
Maybe we could belvie if our eyes had opened, maybe where bumped and broken, broken

Man I dont know. These kind of topics are so hard sad.gif

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Franky
Must be your skin that I'm sinkin in
Must be for real cause now I can feel
and I didn't mind
it's not my kind
not my time to wonder why
everything's gone white
and everything's grey
now your here now you away
I don't want this
remember that
I'll never forget where your at
don't let the days go by
glycerine

I'm never alone
I'm alone all the time
are you at one
or do you lie
we live in a wheel
where everyone steals
but when we rise it's like strawberry fields

If I treated you bad
you bruise my face
couldn't love you more
you got a beautiful taste
don't let the days go by
could have been easier on you
I coudn't change though I wanted to
could have been easier by three
our old friend fear and you and me
glycerine (repeat)
don't let the days go by
glycerine

I needed you more
when we wanted us less
I could not kiss just regress
it might just be
clear simple and plain
that's just fine
that's just one of my names
don't let the days go by
could've been easier on you

Hey sister why you all alone?
I'm standing out your window
Hey little sister, can I come inside, dear?

I wanna show you all my love
I wanna be the only one

Sleipnir - Auf Das Der Wind Sich Dreht

Sage was ich denke, was mich stört, was mich bewegt.

Sage was ich denke, was mich stört, was mich bewegt. Die Stunde ist nun da, Zeit das der Wind sich dreht, das der Wind sich dreht, Zeit das der Wind sich dreht, dass der Wind sich dreht, zeigt dass der Wind sich dreht.

I hope this song starts a craze.
The kind of song that ignites the airwaves.
The kind of song that makes people glad
To be where they are,
With whoever they're there with.
This is war.
Every line is about,
Who I don't wanna write about anymore.
Hope you come down with something
They can't diagnose, don't have the cure for.
Holding on to your grudge.
Oh its so hard to have someone to love.
And keeping quiet is hard.
Cause you cant keep a secret
If it never was a secret to start.
At least pretend you didn't wanna get caught..

story of the year wake up

QUOTE
We are alive for a moment
One second in the great abyss of time
All the bleedin', all the hate
Just one blink of an eye
All the conflicts, it visits dire pain on human life
Are we missing what it is to be alive?

One by one the pieces fall
Until our pride defeats us all
Or we learn to live without it

Wake up!
To the sound of this time bomb
Wake up!
To it's deafening song
Wake up!
Cause you don't know what you've got until it's gone
Until it's gone

Our innocence is a virtue
But our arrogance will only leave us blind
Unattended without anyone to save our idle lives
Will we find out that everything we know exists inside of a fraction
Of a fraction

Iron Maiden - The Clairvoyant

There's a time to live, and a time to die
When it's time to meet the maker
There's a time to live, but isn't it strange
That as soon as you're born you're dying?

I like lyrics that are about living life. They remind us that one day it's all over so you have to live in the moment. These lines do the job.

but now that we’ve done some time and I know who you are
You’re so full of shit how did it get so far?
well you ruined my life, you were never my friend
Alnd now all I can hope is that I’ll never see you again

Valerie- you make me wish I was dead
Valerie- you’re like a knife in my head
I’ll never ever be the same my life is ruined, you’re too blame
Every moment of the year we spent you pushed me further and further over the edge
Maybe you didn’t mean it ,maybe you’re sorry as well but I know that you are evil, you came
straight out of hell
Well you wasted my time, all of my money too
I never really hated until I met you

Valerie- you make me wish I was dead
Valerie- you’re like a knife in my head
I’ll never ever be the same my life is ruined, you’re to blame
Well you ruined my life, you were never my friend and now all I can hope is that I’ll never see
you again

Valerie- you’re like a knife in my head
I’ll never ever be the same my life is ruined, you’re to blame

We're trying to search for answers
About some things we might have missed

You will see what we despise
Raise your voices, raise your fist
We're still here and we're still pist

ore then a verse but the song is prety amazing,f orm the same album but from the song 'ideas are bullet proof'
QUOTE

You might think that through violence we can be shut down
You might stop us physically, but our ideas will be around
Think our hopes will be forgotten when we’re dead and gone
But just like Martin Luther King, the dream will still live on

Ideas are bulletproof: you might kill me
Ideas are bulletproof: but the dream will become reality

Eradicate the woman, and exterminate the man
We've watched you throughout history employ your master plan
We know how you operate, we've witnessed your attacks
But we're in it till the end, yeah no retreat, no turning back

Ideas are bulletproof: you might kill me
Ideas are bulletproof: but the dream will become reality

You can stab me in the back or put a bullet through my head
Slit my throat from ear to ear or beat me till I'm dead
But this won't erase my idea, no you'll still hear it
You can dump me in a shallow grave or torture me to death
Put your hands around my throat and take my last breath
But this won't accomplish anything no you can't kill the spirit
No!!

Ideas are intangible, they are beyond your grasp
They constantly resurface though their origins have passed
We have fought an uphill battle, yeah we fight to right your wrongs
You may have beaten us for now, but we will come back twice as strong

Ideas are bulletproof: you might kill me
Ideas are bulletproof: but the dream will become reality

Who post pin-up pictures on their walls all day long
Idolize they favorite rappers and know all they songs
Or for anyone who's ever been through shit in their lives
Till they sit and they cry at night wishin' they'd die
Till they throw on a rap record and they sit, and they vibe
We're nothin' to you but we're the fuckin' shit in they eyes
That's why we seize the moment try to freeze it and own it, squeeze it and
hold it
Cause we consider these minutes golden
And maybe they'll admit it when we're gone
Just let our spirits live on, through our lyrics that you hear in our
songs and we can...

QUOTE
fix a label on me does it make you feel secure?
fix a labelon me to keep me at a distance
and I'll label you as ignorant not wanting to
know more
before we understand ourselves do we have to fight eachother?
Before we share opinions must we keep them undercover?
we classify andcategorize to keep ourselves divided
we are all individuals not the images
provided

QUOTE
When you say these asshole have their rights I gotta disagree
Because if they had their way, you know they’d take them from you and me
So we will fight them in the streets and we will fight them in the courts
We will fight them with our fists but only as a last resort

QUOTE
But you're still in this society
So what's your main priority
Remain in the majority who never really cared?
Or cultivate the hate to annihilate the state
Are you prepared to die for your beliefs or just to dye your hair?

The anarchist, the nihilist but can you prove that you exist
To apopulation who insist you're just a bunch of fakes
You cannot change the system until you change your own restrictions
Communication and conviction - got to kick until it breaks

QUOTE
Don't want our scene to be exclusive, we want everyone involved
Everyone that's sincere if we are to evolve
Above the petty bullshit we are plagued with everyday
Don't need no trendy assholes standing in the way
And this might sound self-righteous, and that just might be true
But we'll give fucking credit where we think credit's due
Our respect goes out to those who choose to stand alone
And ignore the communal voices, you can think on your own
So don't you fucking listen to what anyone has to say
It's your fucking life, live it your own fucking way
Make your own decisions, and be yourself for once
Form your own opinions, tell everyone to shut the fuck up…

Brand New - Tautou
I'm sinking like a stone in the sea. I'm burning like a bridge for your body.

Brand New - Okay I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don't
I hope this song starts a craze.
The kind of song that ignites the airwaves.
The kind of song that makes people glad
To be where they are,
With whoever they're there with.
This is war.
Every line is about,
Who I don't wanna write about anymore.
Hope you come down with something
They can't diagnose, don't have the cure for.
Holding on to your grudge.
Oh its so hard to have someone to love.
And keeping quiet is hard.
Cause you cant keep a secret
If it never was a secret to start.
At least pretend you didn't wanna get caught..

Going home and putting that on my MP3 palyer. Seventy times seven. haha loove brand new and that used to be my favorite verse. I might just put the discography on my shit. Regardless good verse IMO ThumbUp.gif

The world is my expense
The cost of my desire
Jesus blessed me with its future
And I protect it with fire
So raise your fists
And march around
Just dont take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or I'll drag you to your grave
Im deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

gonna put another part of the song in my sig. Such a great song. Great great fucking song.

Today young men on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration,
that we are all one conciousness experiencing itself subjectively,
there is no such thing as death,
life is only a dream,
and we're the imagination of ourselves.
Here's Tom with the weather.

She was never this good in bed even when she was sleeping
Now she's just so perfect, I've never been quite so fucking deep in
It goes on and on, and on, I can keep you looking young
And preserved forever with a fountain to spray on your youth whenever

Cause I really always knew that my little crime
Would be cold that's why I got a heater for your thighs
