Had the idea of making a topic like this a few days ago.
I asked Watta what he thought about it and found it a good idea.
So you post your interpretation of the lyrics in the song posted above you.

Here we go:

Based Ork Legend
I can't understand the lyrics since he is singing like a dying dugong plz post them.

QUOTE
Stranded in this spooky town,
Stop-lights are swayin' and the phone lines are down.
The floor is crackling cold,
She took my heart, I think she took my soul.
With the moon I run,
Far from the carnage of the fiery sun.

Driven by the strangle of vein,
Showin' no mercy, I'll do it again.
Open up your eyes,
You keep on crying, baby, I'll bleed you dry.
The skies are blinkin' at me,
I see a storm bubblin' up from the sea.

And it's coming closer... [2x]

You shimmy shook my bones,
Leavin' me stranded,
All in love on my own.
Do you think of me?
Where am I now, baby, where do I sleep?
It feels so good but I'm old,
Two-thousand years of chasin', takin' it's toll.

And it's coming closer... [4x]

Song lyric meanings usually mean one thing to someone and something different to someone else. I'd say that the first verse is him in a quiet town at night, some kind of old town in the middle of no where - stop lights swaying, phone lines down. He's on the run as well - floor is crackling cold. He's also talking about an ex that he was in love with but she fucked him over. I'd say he either strangled her to death or stabbed her to death in a moment of passionate rage, more strangled but as when you get into it to strangle someone you used to go out with or something shows it's an act of passion - driven by the strangle of vein, showing no mercy, I'd do it again. Shows he's on the run because of this murder. I think it was probably done when she was in the bath or something - I see a storm bubblin' up from the sea. There are bits that provide more kinda proof if you like - all in love on my own... Where am I now, baby, where do I sleep?. Although the part about two thousand years I don't have a clue about, can only really think it's a reference to the Bible or something that happened two thousand years about a similiar act.

Hassan, your answer immediately made me think of English class back at school when we were interpreting Shakespear and other poetry, lol.

Basically, my take on it is that it's about a relationship. They break up, get back together, and repeat. Fight, argue, cry, etc. until they break up, just to get back together.

ps. that's one of my favourite songs by Kings of Leon, hopefully seeing them at Hyde Park at the end of June.

The point of this topic was you'd post another song so other people post their interpretations of that song.

Rate the song above you - style if you know what I mean lol.

I'll start with another song:

None of us thought that's what you meant at all. I've already done one so I'll let someone else do this.

What the fuck man I didn't even notice he posted Alesana! sad.gif

I don't think it's about the Devil. I'd say it's more about him luring a girl back to his place and then killing her. Shawn - or the character - is a serial killer who does this quite a lot, hense the reference to him being sick of having to keep washing the blood. He obviously regrets it.

I'd say Petey's is about some reality show losing attention seeking whores trying to grab attention?

I'd push you away
But you are the only thing I know

I can't help believing in you...
The idea of beauty leaves me enslaved
Say you'll stay for tonight
And I promise you this will be the last

I'd push you away
But you are the only thing I know
At your feet I now lay
You are the only thing I know, I know

I stare blindly into my reflection
A piece of me lost... I am terrified
That I cannot breathe without you
I am nothing in my eyes if not lost
I can't see past your eyes,
Without them I would die
Shackles cut my wrists as I fight the chains
None can hold me

I'd push you away
But you are the only thing I know
At your feet I now lay
You are the only thing I know, I know

In a room where I once told you everything,
I am alone, I am alone
Once beholden to nothing
And no one how is it that I am slave
to these eyes which glisten with untold secrets
that I crave so wildly to understand?
I must steel my heart to your warm gaze
I'll claw out my eyes and see you no more

It's because of you I sometimes wish that I would die
Sometimes I wish I would die
Leaving you behind
Enraptured by my ignorance,
I now deserve sympathy.

One of my favourite songs. Some people will know exactly what it's about.
