Apps Won't show in Taskbar Options

One day my apps just didn't show up in my taskbar. I've tried dragging and dropping icons to pin programs, but I get this . When I open apps and minimize them, they don't appear in the taskbar and just disappear into oblivion and I have to use task manager to manually bring them up, which is infuriatingly annoying. I updated to Win 10, thinking it'd somehow solve the problem, but it still doesn't work. Help.

To pin to the botton taskbar? You may need to go to the executable shortcut and right click to pin, and not drag.

I have that option. I can pin and unpin, but nothing changes. Apps are still invisible in the taskbar.

I've mostly adapted to life without pinnable apps, (hail to windows 10 task view) but it'd still be very nice to have it back. Someone save me.

try refresh ur icon cache, im not using windows atm so try follow this

Reload thumbnail cache using Disk Cleanup.
1. Go to Start, type Disk Cleanup in to the Search box and then press Enter.
2. Check "Thumbnails" and then click OK.
3. Click "Delete Files" button.

if not there was a program microsoft released awhile ago to fix an issue similar to this
