If not, it's different in America. I didn't even have the notify when ready option when I used the tool; I never installed updates to my OS

Nope.

It's the same everywhere.

Either use the media creation tool or force update windows update to show Install Windows 10 X Edition as an important update.

I was under that impression too. Follow the instructions these two gave and you'll be golden.
