Need some help bro's - PC build Options

Need some help bro's.
Built a rig around 4 years ago and am looking to build something new. I need it for gaming (nothing hardcore, mostly DOTA, sometimes WoW) but also more for video editing (again nothing amazing, just putting some videos together from my GoPro and some family videos from my Canon video camera, all in 1080p).

I'm recycling a few parts from my old build, specifically:

Corsair 600W Builder Series PSU 80%+
Pioneer DVD R/RW SATA Drive
I was also hoping to cut down some costs and reuse the RAM from my old build as I am looking to hit 16GB RAM for smoother editing. I currently have GSkill Ripjaws 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1600MHz.
I can get the exact same RAM (another 8GB, 2x 4GB) no problem so the speeds are the same.

This should save me a bit.

I'm in the UK so prices are a bit more expensive here but I'm budgeting around £400-£450 for everything else I need (new case, MOBO, CPU, GPU, HDD).

Can anyone recommend what CPU and GPU I should go for?

I am stuck between an i3-4360 (i think) and an FX-8320. I went AMD in my first build and was pleased with the performance for the price, but I am not sure what is the best option now that I will be using the PC more for video editing than gaming. Is it better to go for the 8 core FX-8320?

Also for GPU, what's best for my budget? I had a 560ti before and loved it. Truth be told, I prefer NVIDIA for some reason (no idea why) but am open to going for an AMD card.

get more ram for video editing. like 16gb would be fine. Also a good processor would be ideal for video editing as well, but at 400-500 budget you won't be getting anything great. There's a subreddit called r/buildmeapc that I think has a really cheap build. You could also use https://pcpartpicker.com/ to help you build.

PSU, DVD & RAM are all fine.

8gb should be enough for the basic editing you have in mind, but if you really feel the need you could get 2 more 4gb sticks for about 50 quid. i wouldn't bother though.

the fx 8320 is only slightly better than a 6300 (and 20 quid more expensive) outside of threaded processes, but if you really are using it for video editing then i'd splash out the 110 for it; http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-FX8320-Edition.../dp/B009O7YU56/

any reason you aren't reusing the case or hdd(s) from your old build?

hdd: 1tb single platters are about 40 quid in the UK

case is up to you but 60-90 quid would be what you'd expect for a good case.

Since you mentioned you need Video Editing as well. Going for AMD is not 'recommended' but if you still insist then go for it but going for Intel is the best option for you as of 2015

AMD vs Intel

the reason why I recommended Intel over AMD is because of the Single Core performance that Intel(haswell) deliver than AMD's FX (Bulldozer) delivered. The Intel although more expensive, theyre better than AMD's performance in single computing and multi threading.

AMD's FX8 series is a great CPU and I'd personally buy it for Gaming myself but the temperature is out of this world. So you may as well need to buy a proper 3rd party cooler to sustain your FX8 cpu that costs you exactly the same price for an i5 when you buy an FX8+Cooler

And since you mentioned about 1080p editing, going for AMD is something you should properly reconsider.

Regarding with the Graphics Card, DOTA/MOBA doesn't use much graphical power so going for Mid/High Performance card is all you need

R7 260X 2GB / R7 360X 2GB - 90+ fps (DX12 card)
R7 265 2GB / R7 370 2GB - 105+ fps (DX11 card)
R9 270X 2GB / R9 370X 2GB - 120+ fps (DX11 card)

NVidia
GTX 750 Ti - 90+ Fps (DX12 card
GTX 950 - 105+ Fps (DX12 card)
GTX 960 - 120+ fps (DX12 card)

these cards fits your need already but if you demand more...then going for R9 280/380/290/390 or GTX970/980 will be more than enough to play dota on 1440p/4k
